Jafor Alam,Cox’s Bazar,17 April ::

A Rohingya youth from the Kutupalong refugee camp in Cox’s Bazar was taken to the Malumghat Memorial Christian Hospital in Chakaria after experiencing abdominal pain.At this time, after various tests including ultrasonography, 39 packets of yaba were removed from the abdomen one by one through caesarean section.Later those packets were opened and 1950 pieces of yaba tablets were found.This is the first time a yaba tablet has been removed from the abdomen of a yaba smuggler or dealer by caesarean section.All concerned,including the hospital authorities, were pleasantly surprised.The Rohingya youth underwent a caesarean section on Friday (April 16th) night at the Malumghat Memorial Christian Hospital in Dulahazar,Chakaria, Cox’s Bazar.Later, when the hospital authorities reached Chakaria Police Station,the police seized the yaba and filed a case under the Narcotics Control Act against the Rohingya who were undergoing treatment in the hospital bed after the caesarean operation.Chakaria police sub-inspector (SI) Md Kamruzzaman said,Upon receiving the news,they went to the hospital,opened the packets and seized the yaba in the presence of the doctors on duty.He said Zakir Hossain(22)son of Md Ilias, a refugee from Kutupalong Rohingya Camp-2 and Block No 1 in Ukhiya,Cox’s Bazar,was brought to Malumghat Memorial Christian Hospital in Chakaria by representatives of MSF,an NGO working in the camp,before Friday evening.If you feel severe pain in the abdomen at this time, first various tests including ultrasonography are done.If the results confirm the presence of an object in the abdomen,the doctors decide to perform a caesarean section on the abdomen.Then the real mystery came out.In this regard,Chakaria Police Station OC Shaker Md Jubayer said,This is the first time a yaba packet has been removed after a caesarean section.However, there have been cases of yaba in the anus before.A Rohingya smuggler of yaba is undergoing treatment under police guard and a case has been filed against him under the Narcotics Control Act.Later, as per the directions of the court,necessary steps will be taken regarding the Rohingya citizens.
